CNN+ launches March 29; MSNBC to stream

How To Activate Roku CNN

(AP) CNN+ will debut on March 29 with programming from Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Jake Tapper, Audie Cornish, Kasie Hunt, and Chris Wallace.

Charter subscribers will pay $5.99 a month or $59.99 for the service.

MSNBC said Thursday that it will offer much of its TV lineup on the $4.99-a-month Peacock Premium streaming service.

Kevin Costner will narrate a Fox Nation documentary series on Yellowstone national park.

News outlets known for TV are betting on streaming’s growing importance. ABC, CBS, and NBC News offer free breaking news streaming, but CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC charge.

Many in the industry are watching to see if CNN+’s momentum will be slowed by Jeff Zucker’s departure.

Some of its fare will feel familiar, like a traditional daily newscast anchored by Blitzer and Kate Bolduan’s newsletter-like morning look at the day’s top stories. Cooper will host a parenting show, and Tapper will interview authors.

Wallace, who left Fox News in December, will host a daily interview show. Hunt will host a daily political show. “20 Questions with Audie Cornish” will air weekly.

Jemele Hill, Don Lemon, Christiane Amanpour, Scott Galloway, and Rex Chapman will host. CNN+ will stream original series and films.

MSNBC said Peacock will offer “Morning Joe” and shows by Nicolle Wallace, Ari Melber, Joy Reid, and Chris Hayes on Peacock Premium in early spring. Evening shows stream the next day, while “Morning Joe” is delayed six hours.
